On this page you will find the listings and examples of various projects I was able to work on with the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at Gregory Middle School during the Fall of 2011 first quarter in art. Links on the right-hand side of the page allow for easy download of all lesson plans and supplemental materials utilized in the classroom during those projects.

During this project, students created a gargoyle using the pinch pot method of clay construction. They then utilized the score and slip method of adding clay to attach limbs, wings and tails. Their gargoyles were designed by combining the parts of 3 or more gargoyles to form a digital sketch of their gargoyle elements.

Visual Journaling - 8th GradeFor our 8th Grade Drawing and Painting classes, students were able to record all subjects, mediums, and techniques discussed in class in their own visual journal. Student's first task was to design their own unique cover to project their own identity onto their visual journal. Afterward, students were able to use their visual journal for not only coursework, but also visual studies found within their own everyday aesthetic research.
